For many years I have felt frustrated, furious, and annoyed with my sister. Your sister should be like you best friend, there with you at all times. There to protect you, share feelings, and support you. But my story is a little different.
My sister Rylee and I would always fight and yell until our throats got dry and we felt as if a bee had just stung it. Back then I didn’t think about how bad our relationship was. I just thought about how to get back at her and make her mad. Unfortunately, I didn’t know that it wasn’t mad I was feeling I was actually hurt by all of the rude comments and glares my sister gave me. Instead of showing my real emotion, I let out madness instead of hurt.
I went to someone to talk about what makes my life hard and I hade mentioned Rylee. One day the lady that I was sharing my emotions to made Rylee come in with me. She wanted us to tell each other about how bad this relationship is and how to fix it. The lady had started with saying,
“Rylee, does this constant fighting and hate between you two bother you?”
“Yes” My sister replied.
“Do you love Lexi?”
“Yes, a lot.” My sister cried.
Her eyes filled up with tears and she burst out crying. I started to cry too. I felt as if we had waterfalls running down our cheeks. In all of my life my sister had never said that she loved me so this moment was really big to me. It felt like our relationship had gotten better already.
Right after my sister and I had got out of the small and quiet room, we immediately started to fix out relationship. From that day forward, I have been telling my sister how I really feel and not just letting out anger. Just because I held my hurt inside, I lost the best friend of my life. My sister. If I could go back in time, out of all the things I could do, I would fix this.
A sister is always going to be your shining star, your burst of light, or even your best friend. Sisters are the best treasure and memory in your life. Hold on to you sister as if she was your favorite teddy bear that you hold on to as tight as you can forever. Hold her hand and never let go.
